Virtua Agent is a true 8-bit demake of the classic arcade light-gun action, faithfully reimagined for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Built from the ground up with real NES hardware limitations in mind, Virtua Agent recreates the intense, on-rails shooting gameplay of Virtua Cop using authentic 8-bit graphics, sound, and design. Experience the iconic opening mission originally seen on the Sega Saturn now transformed into a pixel-perfect NES game. 

You play as an elite special agent tasked with dismantling a dangerous drug cartel that has seized control of the city docks. Criminals hide behind crates, leap into view, and threaten innocent civilians, putting your reflexes and accuracy to the test. Every shot counts as you push deeper into enemy territory.

Virtua Agent fully supports NES light-gun gameplay for an authentic arcade experience, while also offering controller support so anyone can jump in and play. Fight your way through 5 stages, each escalating in difficulty and intensity, before facing the cartel’s ruthless leader..

This is not a demake using modern tech, it’s a genuine demake, designed as if it could have existed on the NES during its original era. From chunky sprites and limited color palettes to classic 8-bit sound effects, Virtua Agent captures the look, feel, and challenge of a lost NES light-gun classic.
The game is written in 6502 assembly and programmed specifically for the NES, ensuring authentic behavior, timing, and performance that stays true to the original hardware.

**This game is built on the Mavericks Baghdad Extraction Engine** you may notice some familiar sound effects. If you notice any bugs please let me know in the comments section. I will update as needed.

To reload using the NES Zapper wait until you see the flashing sign "reload" then aim off screen and pull the trigger:

To reload using the controller press the A Buttton.
